Who We Serve
The LARC Division Dispatch Center provides emergency 9-1-1 services for all Laramie and Albany County residents. Primarily, the LARC Dispatch Center serves the Laramie Police Department, Albany County Sheriff’s Office, and the Laramie Fire Department (both fire and emergency medical services). Additionally, LARC Dispatch serves:
  • Albany County Search and Rescue
  • Big Laramie Volunteer Fire Department
  • Centennial Valley Volunteer Fire Department
  • City of Laramie Water Department (after hours emergency calls only)
  • Little Laramie Volunteer Fire Department
  • Rock River Volunteer Fire Department
  • Tie Siding Volunteer Fire Department
  • U.S. Forest Service law enforcement officers
  • Vedauwoo Volunteer Fire Department

Calls for Service

The Dispatch Center is the only public safety answering point (PSAP) in Albany County. All emergency and non-emergency calls are routed through LARC Dispatch. Medical and fire emergencies that occur on the University of Wyoming campus are also taken and dispatched by LARC dispatchers. Each year, on average, the Dispatch Center handles the following:
  • Albany County Sheriff’s Office - 15,000 calls for service
  • Laramie Fire Department (EMS) - 2,000 calls for service
  • Laramie Fire Department (Fire) - 700 calls for service
  • Laramie Police Department - 55,000 calls for service
  • Total - 72,700 calls for service
